Privacy
This page says what this site does with your data. It’s short, because it does almost nothing with it.
What this site does not do
No cookies. No analytics. No advertising, no ad network, no tracking pixel. I don’t know who comes to read, or how many of you there are, and I’m quite happy that way.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, the only data collected is your email address.
- What for: to send you an email when I publish a new article. Nothing else.
- On what basis: your consent, given by filling in the form and then confirmed by clicking the link in the verification email. Without that second click, your address is not kept.
- Who processes it: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, RCS Paris 498 019 298), a French provider whose servers are in the European Union. Your address therefore never leaves the EU, and it is not shared, sold or exchanged with anyone.
- For how long: until you unsubscribe. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click, with no questions and no form to fill in.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, it keeps short-lived technical logs — IP address, page requested — needed to run and secure the service. I don’t read them and I draw no statistics from them.
The weather in the top bar
The temperature shown at the top of the page is requested by your browser from the Open-Meteo service, each time a page is displayed. That request passes your IP address to that service, as any request on the internet does. I mention it because it is the only third-party call this site makes, and it’s better said than left unsaid.
Your rights
You may ask to see your address, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to its use. The simplest route is the unsubscribe link, which erases everything. Otherwise write to me through the Contact link at the top of the page; I answer personally.
If my answer doesn’t satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
